Yesterday (29th December
2019) the severed head of a new born found in a market area near Habra General
Hospital in 24 North Paragana District in West Bengal. It is said that this
head might be among the same 24 foetuses found 3 months back stuffed in some
containers kept in a sack lying in a bush near a pond adjacent to Habra’s
Mogra. The head was dragged out by a dog and some resident alarmed when they
saw him biting the head. A team from Habra Police station rushed to the spot
and they recovered the head.
The question of 24 foetuses is still
not answered. The government officials are only claiming that any illegal
abortion centre must be running nearby. But still they remained unsuccessful to
unveil the fact.
Another incident sent the shock
waves in Telangana on 22nd December this year. The torso of a foetus
was left inside womb of pregnant lady named Swati after the child's head got
severed from the body during delivery. The incident came to light after the
bewildered family members of the patient ransacked the hospital and damaged
furniture during which a police constable was injured.
Swati, 23, the villager of Nadimpally was admitted at the
Achampet Hospital in Nagarkurnool District in Telangana on December 18. The
doctors informed the patient's family that it would be normal delivery and no
complications were mentioned.
Doctor gave an injection to Swati and soon after they
took her into the labour room. The duty doctor Sudha Rani, who was assisting
the delivery, called in two other male doctors to assess the situation. After a
while, they told Swati’s relatives that the situation was complicated and she
need to take to the maternity hospital at Petlaburj Maternity Hospital in
Hyderabad which is 150 KM away from Achampet. The doctor didn't tell what the
issue was or that the baby's head was severed.
As per the reports there was no C-Section taken and the
delivery was normal. But while pulling out the head was severed.
Nagarkurnool district collector and District Medical
Health Officer (DMHO) K Sudhakar Lal have taken note of the situation and
realising lapse on the part of the Achampet hospital authorities, placed
hospital superintendent Tara Singh and doctor Sudha Rani under suspension.
DMHO Sudhakar told that it is not yet clear whether the
baby was still born or died because the head was severed from the body.
Condition may not be favourable every time but, for sure,
the impoverished and children have no favourable place to be happy and to live a
healthy life. The government have settled the hospitals for the poor but the
administration is poorer than the beneficiaries. There are very less facilities
in these hospitals even in cities like Mumbai. What would be the condition in
rural area? The available facilities are insufficient compare to the large
number of patients. They are not made available to the patient on time. And
lack of skilled doctors is another ailment to this system. All the skilled
doctors are giving their services in large scaled hospitals. Such a slanderous
deed by a doctor can’t be pardoned.
What the abortions of those 24 foetus show cases? Does
this so called cultured country have really remained cultured? How the lapses
of laws going to be rectified?
There are many such ill services are going in our country.
Each department have to be very keen on every activity. And the people
protesting for rights of citizen also must know these lapses and fight for the
rights of these our own people who are struggling to live. We do not need any
outsiders to burden our system. We should understand that it is not the
question of any religion. Children have no religion. Let them come into this
world. Let them live in their own nation.
Non-issues are enough now.
